If You’re Stuck, You’re Overthinking It
“What if we spend all this… and it doesn’t work?”
A practice owner was considering building out a rehab wing.
They had just started pricing it out.
Building extension. Pool. Underwater treadmill. The full setup.
But the costs stopped them in their tracks.
This is where many practice leaders get stuck.
Build it all… or don’t start at all.
But there’s a simpler way to approach this.
Here’s what I tell my vets: “Want a full rehab system with pool and treadmill? Let’s try converting one room for rehab first and see if it’s any use for your patients.”
Not everything needs to start as a major investment.
You can:
Test a service in one room
Run a 90-day trial
Track actual demand
Measure utilization and margin
Then decide what’s worth expanding.
Because good leadership doesn’t require massive leaps.
It requires structured experimentation.
Small tests reduce risk, reduce fear, and give you real data to go off of, rather than guesses.
